14 Day Hoi An, Da Nang & Hue Sightseeing Tour

Day 1 Sat. (D)
Arrive Da Nang and after exiting immigration and customs be met by your driver waiting to greet you after your overnight flight. Approximately 40 mins Air conditioned transfer to your Villa accommodation in Hoi An. Free time awaiting all arrivals. This evening we have a welcome drink and briefing of weeks activities and issue of maps before heading to a group dinner.

Day 2 Sun. (B,L,D)
Morning walking food tour introducing both local street foods and speciality dishes of Hoi An and Vietnam whilst receiving an orientation of old town. Free afternoon to either explore old town or relax by the swimming pool. This evening for those that are participating in the Swim Vietnam volunteer program, we will meet the local swimming instructors for a quick briefing of the instruction procedures before all having a local dinner together to meet one another. If you're feeling in the mood perhaps after dinner you can join the instructors in one of their favourite pastimes? Karaoke!

Day 3 Mon. (B,L)
Today we have breakfast poolside at our Villa accommodation before heading off on our bicycles and catching a ferry to a local island where we will explore the countryside and make a number of stops watching locals go about their traditional crafts. Including a demonstration of making rice noodles and tofu with a local family before sitting down for lunch. After lunch, we make our way back to Hoi An where the afternoon and evening is free to make your own arrangements. Swim Vietnam participants cycle to the Swim Vietnam pool for our 3-6pm swim session.

Day 4 Tue. (B)
Today is a free day to spend as you see fit. Breakfast will be served at your leisure poolside. Perhaps you would like some clothes, shoes or bags custom made! Maybe some souvenir shopping or you might like to take an optional excursion to the ancient My Son Cham ruins or a tag along scooter tour of the countryside south of Hoi An? Free evening to wander the streets of the old town and inspect the night market and lantern shops. Swim Vietnam participants cycle to our 3-6pm swim session.

Day 5 Wed. (B,L)
Swim Vietnam participants will cycle to the 7.30-10.30 swim session and will stop for a true local breakfast experience along the way. All other participants are encouraged to also join in with this local breakfast stop. After breakfast, the morning is free for you to relax before our lunchtime air conditioned transfer to An Bang Beach where you will participate in a Vietnamese cooking class. Don't forget your bathers/swimmers as after the class you will have the opportunity for a swim in the ocean and sit and watch the sunset at the beach with a cold drink. Tonight's dinner/drinks and transfer, are at your own expense and you can travel home by taxi whenever you're ready!

Day 6 Thu. (B)
Breakfast will be served poolside again this morning before Swim Vietnam participants cycle to our 7.30-10.30 swim session. Late morning for those that are interested, we will take a leisurely bike ride past the fish market to the pottery village and back to Hoi An where you have a free afternoon. Late afternoon we embark on a private boat for a wine and cheese sunset cruise before you are free to explore and scout the old town for a dinner location or even perhaps for a visit to the Mojito bar!

Day 7 Fri. (B,L,D)
This morning we’re eating out again. This time to try another great hidden local breakfast location for a serve of Banh Mi Ca Ri. From here, we board our vehicle for a trip into the Vietnamese countryside and visit the famous Ho Chi Minh trail. We will make several stops along the way and also visit one of the Swim Vietnam rural locations. Lunch is included. Returning mid afternoon you will have time for a rest before Swim Vietnam participants have your final 3-6pm swim session and say goodbye to the students and instructors. Tonight we have a farewell dinner amongst the rice fields to say our goodbyes to new friends and celebrate a wonderful experience in Central Vietnam.

Day 8 Sat. (B,L)
Departure day for those that are leaving us. A driver will transfer you back to Da Nang airport for your departure flight after your final breakfast.

For those remaining, after breakfast we jump on our bikes again, this time we cycle our way through the local villages and pass the new Cua Dai bridge before a stop at a unique bamboo bike manufacturer. From here we visit the local water coconut village and try a fresh coconut drink before jumping into the unfamiliar round basket boats to explore our way through the water coconut groves. We next ride through the shrimp farms and rice paddies, before stopping for a ride on a friendly water buffalo! We continue cycling to the centuries old herb village where we will have a relaxing herbal foot bath and lunch. After lunch we make our way back home for a free afternoon and evening. Swim Vietnam participants cycle to the 3-6pm swim session.

Day 9 Sun. (B,D)
Today is our last in Hoi An. After breakfast poolside, Swim Vietnam participants cycle to your farewell 7.30-10.30 swim session. Last chance to pick up any final shopping and farewell Banh Mi! After lunch we transfer up to Da Nang. After checking in, your afternoon is free to relax down on the famous My Khe beach. Tonight we visit a local Vietnamese BBQ restaurant. Fast and furious charcoal chicken wings and cold beers before visiting one of Danangs most unusual and popular attractions the Dragon Bridge. Tonight it will be blowing both fire and water from its mouth!

Day 10 Mon (B)
Today is a free day to spend at your leisure. Maybe a day on the beach or a leisurely stroll around the city. Perhaps an optional tour to the famous Marble Mountain or the Son Tra Peninsula to visit monkey mountain or the Lady Buddah? You even have time to either do a "Top Gear" Hai Van Pass tour or visit Ba Na Hills via a cable car to their own French Chateau!

Day 11 Tue. (B,L,D)
This morning we depart our hotel for our journey to the Imperial city of Hue but not before another wonderful local breakfast this time on a sizzling hotplate! After breakfast we head to the main Danang railway station where will board our train for the 3 hour scenic journey through the mountains and along the coast before reaching Hue about lunchtime. After we check in to our hotel for the next 3 nights we have a welcome drink and briefing about Hue and maps are issued. A group dinner is organised tonight.

Day 12 Wed. (B)
After breakfast in our hotel we are picked up by cyclos for a journey through Hue so as to get your bearings. We finish at the citadel where you are free to enjoy and explore the sights for as long as you wish. This afternoon and tonight is free time to explore yourselves but a visit to the Dong Ba market is a must.

Day 13 Thu (B,D)
Today is our last full day of our central Vietnam experience. After our hotel breakfast at your leisure, you are free to go shopping, or perhaps take an optional extra day tour to the DMZ area. We also offer an optional extra tour that includes a cruise along the Perfume River to the pagoda, a visit to a traditional tea house, the incense making village and the Tu Duc royal tomb. Tonight we come together for our farewell royal banquet where we dress up and eat the dishes once served to the last emperors of central Vietnam(minimum numbers required)!

Day 14 Fri. (B,L)
Our final day sees us finish our time together and depart Hue after breakfast. Departure times can be staggered to suit individuals flight details and we use a luxury express mini bus for our transfer back to Danang for departure flights back home or your onward journeys to other destinations.
